Seattle Homes For Sale And The Weeks Titanic Events
For anyone who hasn’t gotten the word, this is a week that sees the kind of major happening that will affect every corner of the nation. Here in Seattle, this kind of titanic event can also give rise to questions about Seattle real estate, and whether (when the smoke clears) there could be significant effects on Seattle homes for sale, positive or negative.
When events transpire that affect every man, woman, and child in Seattle, they can’t help but have an impact. Let’s stop beating around the bush: here’s what we’re talking about:
We aren’t talking about the Chicago Cubs’ 10th inning 7th game accomplishment. That happened a lot longer ago (last Wednesday). And besides, there are men, women, and children upon whom it had little noticeable effect.
And it isn’t about this week’s weather, which is actually supposed to be more like what we’d expect than has been true for much of 2016. The great event in question was the one that had been on nation’s calendars for what seems like forever. You’d have to have been living in a cave (one without wi-fi) to have not been prepared for it when it finally arrived.
We’re talking about setting our clocks back on Sunday.
Although this is not the proper forum for airing super-controversial subjects, this one is too important not to dig into. On Sunday, when everyone in the area found themselves with an extra hour to spend as they saw fit, the effect on Seattle homes for sale was immediate and dramatic.
Any open houses that had been scheduled to run from sometime-to-4 PM were left with the conundrum of whether prospects would have remembered to adjust their watches, and if not, did ‘4 PM’ to them mean ‘5 PM’ or ‘3 PM?’ Likewise, for home showings slated for noon, should the house be prepped for 11 AM, just in case? What if prospective buyers had somehow missed the shift from daylight saving to standard time? If homeowners had changed their clocks properly, would it be rude to correct visitors who showed up an hour early/late?
By a weird coincidence, the titanic shift of every timepiece in town was not the only significant event that could have at least some effect on local real estate and Seattle homes for sale.
Next week there is going to be a supermoon—definitely a titanic astronomical occurrence! The moon will be at its closest point of approach in its orbit around Earth—just as the November 14th Beaver Moon is at its fullest. This will be not only the closest and brightest supermoon of 2016—it is going to be the largest since 1948!!!
This week also sees another national event of great interest—but what that is seems to have slipped my mind for the moment…
